Kelly Ann Monahan is a friendly, familiar voice that has been on the airwaves in Nashville in one form or another since 2001. She’s been part of the WSM family since early 2011. Born and raised in a small, suburban Pennsylvania town, Kelly got her start on commercial radio as a traffic anchor in Philadelphia. Once she made the leap to Nashville to pursue music, Kelly began reporting on radio stations here, and was the afternoon traffic reporter for Nashville television station WKRN for several years. She then added news reporter to her resume and won an AIR Award. After several DJ stints over the years – including middays on 95.5 The Wolf in Nashville – Kelly went on to become a producer, writer and editor for Triton Radio Networks where she was the voice of a daily, nationally-broadcast feature segment and interviewed country stars. She also has been the health and medical correspondent for World Christian Broadcasting for over 10 years now.
When she’s not on the radio, you’re likely to catch Kelly singing one of her songs. She’s a soulful singer-songwriter who has performed everywhere from Nashville’s Bluebird Café to Philly’s Tin Angel. She’s proud to be a long-time musical member of Musicians On Call in Nashville – which helps bring the healing power of music to patients’ bedsides in healthcare facilities.
