Perhaps the most knowledgeable figure on country music history on the planet, Opry announcer and CMA broadcast personality award-winner Eddie Stubbs is often referred to at the Opry as a “walking encyclopedia of country music.” His show features different nightly themes, a great variety of music including “deep catalog” favorites, and Eddie’s unique insight into the stories and the people behind the music.

Enjoyed the Tennessean article from Monday, 11/21/11. I listen to your show while driving into work on third shift every weekday night. I appreciate your attention to ALL of country music...from Jimmie Rogers to Faith Hill. You are indeed a "walking country music encyclopedia", and your show is like no other. What are you doing working Thanksgiving AND the night before? I worry about you with all the hours on air & the extra hours preparing for those hours AND the Opry AND The Marty Stuart Show AND the new show on RFD-TV....Besides there are so few of us our age who even know who Acuff & Monroe & Flatt & Scruggs are/were let alone like them let alone are allowed to play them on air...If you work yourself into a stroke, we'll be forced to listen to someone who thinks "old-tyme" music is Reba & George Strait!!!

When you tune in to “The Eddie Stubbs Show,” you’re in good company. In addition to listeners around the world, some of country music’s top stars including Ronnie Milsap and Vince Gill are professed fans. And you never know when one of country music’s most famous voices might drop in for the night to help Eddie play their latest hits or something from Eddie’s enormous vinyl collection.

A DJ BY Any Other Name…
While Eddie has been known to give some of his favorite artists monikers (he has dubbed Connie Smith the Rolls-Royce of country singers), buddy Vince Gill likes to call Eddie “Chubby.” At 6’3” and 150 pounds, Eddie almost disappears when he turns sideways, Vince says.
